Mrs. Thomas York Dies at Douglas

Mrs. Thomas H. York, 63, a resident of the Shawnee community and mother of Jesse York of Lance Creek, died last Friday at The Converse County Memorial Hospital.

Myrtle Grace Elgin was born Jan. 1, 1889 at Richhill, Mo., the daughter of Charles and Lucy Ann Elgin. She moved to the Shawnee community in the spring of 1909. On Aug. 26, 1909 she was married to Thomas H. York.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Jesse, Lance Creek, and Robert, Gillette; two sisters, Rosa Doke, Butler, Mo. and Elizabeth York, Douglas; a brother, Charles R. Elgin, and four grandchildren. A daughter preceded her in death.
