Graveside Services For Mrs. Peterson Held Here April 27

Note: This is entered exactly as the obituary was printed. However, relatives spell the last name "Petersen", which is what is on the gravestone.

Graveside services were held at the Lusk cemetery, April 27 for Mrs. Ida May Peterson, 76, of Torrington. She died at the Torrington hospital April 24 after a brief illness.

She was born in St. Joseph, Mo., April 10, 1890. She married John J. Peterson at Auburn in 1912.

In 1921 they moved to Wyoming, living in Lusk, Wheatland and Torrington where she operated nursing homes until 1963.

She was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include five sons, Lester Hampton of Crawford; James Peterson of Harrison; Howard Peterson of Wheatland, Richard Peterson of Steverton, Wash., and John Peterson of Hermistom, Ore.;

Five daughters, Mrs. Maybelle Castor of Santa Ana, Calif.; Mrs. Margaret Garhardt of Fort Laramie, Mrs. Stella Jean Johansen of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Laura Larson and Mrs. Dorothy Williams, both of Goldendale, Wash.; one brother, Everett Parson, Scottsbluff; 32 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1952 and one daughter.

Funeral services were held at the Coyler Funeral Home in Torrington, with the Rev. L. C. Dale officiating.

Pallbearers were grandsons, William Peterson, Kimball; Glen Peterson, Harrison; Charles Garhart, Shawnee; Danny Garhart, Fort Laramie; Edd Garhart, Riverton and Alfred Ward, Lusk.
