Clifford (Cliff) Ferris

Clifford (Cliff) Ferris passed away Feb.16, 2010 in Lusk, Wyo., after a long illness. Cliff was born in Alliance, Neb. to Arthur and Gladys Ferris on May 29, 1933. He was one of eight children. He is survived by his loving wife of over 54 years, Darlene, a son, Richard (Theresa) Ferris of Arvada, Colo.; two daughters, Judy (Kevin) Fernau of Cody, Wyo.; and Donna (John) Rynearson of Lewistown, Ill.; brother Lawrence Ferris of Torrington, Wyo.; sister Elsie Largent of Glasgow, Ky.; granddaughters Alisa Ferris, Marcy (Joshua) Bennett, Jennifer Ferris, Terra Fernau; grandsons Jeffrey Fernau and Michael Rynearson; step-grandchildren Rachelle (Jeff) Trujillo, and Matt Kostel; and step-great-grandchildren Jacob and Julia Trujillo.

Cliff lived most of his life in Wyoming, growing up in Manville and graduating from Manville High School. He served in the US Army and spent 30 years working for the State Highway Department in Lusk. His many interests included hunting arrowheads, metal detecting, avidly watching sports - especially the Wyoming Cowboys - and, most of all, spending time with his family, friends and neighbors.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lusk, officiated by Pastor Darren Pflughoeft.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Saint Paul Lutheran Church of Lusk, Niobrara Health and Life Center, or Niobrara Senior Center.

Pier Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
