Janice C. Scott

Janice Charlene Scott was born May 31, 1950 to Mildred and Charlie Scott in Lusk, Wyoming, where she spent her childhood and most of her adult life. She was a graduate of Niobrara County High School's class of 1968, after which she earned her cosmetology license.

For many years she owned and operated Jan's Hair Affair, serving the local ladies. Jan was not afraid of hard work, however, and was employed by several of Lusk's local businesses, including the Lusk Liquor Store and the Wyoming State Women's Penitentiary prior to owning/operating the Fireside Inn & Cowboy Bar for several years.

Jan volunteered her time to the community of Lusk, serving on the boards of the Stagecoach Museum and The Pony Express. Both projects were dear to her heart.

Jan enjoyed 61 years of life. She loved a good laugh with friends, spending time with her children, taking road trips, crocheting, reading, and playing with her dog, Lucifer.

Jan passed away July 19, 2011, after battling a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry Scott; and uncle, Speck Black. She is survived by her children: Chuck Mosier of Boston, MA; Chris Mosier and his wife Shawnee Brown of Austin, TX; Amanda DeMoss and her husband Derek of Belle Fouche, SD; and Brenden Weymouth of Torrington, WY; her aunt, Mable Black of Lusk; her sister-in-law, Vickie Scott of Lusk; two nieces; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Tue., July 26, 2011, at the Lusk Cemetery.
