Crofutt Baby Dies as Treatment for Ailment is Given

Death overtook Irma Lucille, the five-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Crofutt, residents of the north Hat Creek community, in the offices of Dr. Walter E. Reckling in this city at 12:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, September 26th, as she was being given treatment for an intestinal ailment. The tiny youngster had been suffering from acute gastro-enteritis for three days prior to her death.

Funeral services were held from the family ranch home, 10 miles north of Hat Creek, Wednesday afternoon, Rev. D.J. Clark officiating. Burial was made in the family plot on the ranch under the direction of George Earl Peet of the Peet Mortuary.

A ladies quartet, composed of Mrs. Ben Selkert, Mrs. Lloyd Younkin, Miss Delia Tracy and Miss Irma Hargroves, sang "When He Cometh," "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "Rock of Ages."

The pallbearers were Dorris Younkin, Violet Postel, Laura Myrup, and Evelyn Heth.

Irma Lucille is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Crofutt, five sisters and three brothers.
