David John Bruegger

David John Bruegger was born August 22, 1952, the eldest son of John and Norma Bruegger. He attended grade school at Van Tassell and graduated in 1970 from Niobrara County High School in Lusk.

He then attended Nebraska Vocational Technical School in Sidney, Nebr. He graduated with an Applied Arts Degree in Diesel Mechanics in May 1972.

He returned to help his mother manage the family ranch after his father's death in 1973. Where he was both father and brother to his four younger brothers; Mark, Lee, Greg and Cody, until they all were through school.

He was then engaged in his own trucking service for four years. In 1981 he went to Australia on a trip and had plans to return there.

He enjoyed hunting and bowling, but spent most of his spare time in the ranch shop where he liked to build and repair mechanical equipment. His friends knew he could figure a way to repair things if they did not work right.

David's death is a tremendous loss to his family and friends.

Services for David John Bruegger were held at Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk, October 27, 1984 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Roy Howell officiated. Music was by Minerva Watson, organist and Joy Kaltenheuser sang, "Beyond the Sunset" and "Amazing Grace".

Active pallbearers were Richard Brott, Rex Groves, Ed Perry, Frank Ladwig, Dan Goddard, and Roy Lohr.

Internment was at the Lusk Cemetery.

Arrangements were by the Peet Mortuary.

Memorials may be made to the Niobrara County Ambulance Fund.
