Elvin Bryant

Elvin (Ted) Bryant, 85, died July 6, 1996, in St. George, Utah.

Funeral services were July 9, 1996, in St. George, Utah. Burial was in Washington, Utah.

He was born Sept. 19, 1910 in Alpena, S.D., to John F. and Candis Berg Bryant. As an infant, he moved with his family to Hat Creek, where they homesteaded. He grew up in the Hat Creek and Lusk area. He was in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He worked for Marathon Oil out of Powell for 38 years. After retiring, he went to Nigeria, Africa, for six months teaching pipe-lining for an oil company.

He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing and gardening. He moved with his family to Washington, Utah, in 1975.

Survivors included his wife of Washington, Utah; children Teddy Bryant of Washington, Utah, Donna Kay Smith of Furnace Creek, Calif., and Jeannie (Tim) Weaver of Rock Springs, Wyo.; brother Wilbur Bryant of Lusk; nephews Burr Bryant of Lusk, and Jim and Wes Bryant of Sheridan; nieces Tiny Crofutt of Lusk, Iris Cline, of Wilberton, Okla., Evelyn Guibault of Hemet, Calif., Colein Kregear, of Arvada, Colo., and Berty Austin, of Gillette; 22 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sons Michael Ray and Freddy; daughter Betty Jean; his parents; and brother Fred Bryant of Hat Creek.
