Mrs. Culver, 89, Dies Thursday

Mrs. Hattie Culver, 89, died in Niobrara County Memorial Hospital last Thursday. Funeral services were held at the Peet Mortuary Friday morning at 10:30. Burial was in Casper.

Ronald Brown, minister of the Church of Christ officiated. Mrs. A. F. DeCastro was organist and accompanied Mrs. Hobart Cockreham and Mrs. Carl Peterson as they sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Rock of Ages."

Hattie Pickering was born October 21, 1879 in Yates Center, Kans., to Martha Jane and P. J. Pickering. She married James M. Culver in 1898 in Kansas. The couple moved to Byers, Colo., in 1912 where they homesteaded and in 1921 moved to Casper. After Mr. Culver's death in 1950, she continued to live in Casper until two years ago when she moved to Lusk and made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Buck Culver.

Survivors include five sons, Leon, Sand Diego, Calif., Lafe and W. W. (Buck) both of Lusk, Pat of Casper and Duff of Seattle, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. Cora Cordell, Santa Anna, Calif., Mrs. Anna Barnes, Kansas City, Kans., and Mrs. Minnie Terwilliger, Loveland, Colo.; one brother George Pickering, Yates Center; 26 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Her husband and one son died previously.
